Related Questions

The Related Questions screen allows managing which questions are related to a verbatim response and are used to code them. Often, these questions provide fuller context when coding.

Questions Panel

The Questions Panel Lists the verbatim questions in the study that can be assigned related questions or variables.

Variables Panel

The Variables Panel lists all of the questions in the study which can be set as related to the selected verbatim question on the left. The related questions are referred to as variables as they provide additional information to coding decisions.

Each question that is checked is related to the selected verbatim question.

Clear Button

Clears all variables related to the selected verbatim question.

To view and edit a verbatim question's related questions:

  1. Click on the question in the Questions Panel which you want to manage the related questions of. The current related questions will have the checkbox selected.
  2. Click on the related question that should be related/unrelated in the Variables Panel. The checkbox will reflect the new related or unrelated status.

To clear the related questions for a vertabim question:

  1. Click on the question in the Questions Panel you want to clear the related questions on.
  2. Click the Clear button, which clears all variables currently related to the selected question in the Questions Panel.
